Vinod Dua (born on March 11, 1954 ) is one of the most well known names of the Indian media. He is best known for his election analysis with Prannoy Roy. Currently he anchors a program Khabardar on NDTV India. He came to be known in early 80’s on Doordarshan’s Sunday morning program called “Aap Ke Liye”. When satellite and cable TV hit India late 1980 and early 1990, he hosted a program to interview elected office bearers called “Janvani”, which was quite successful.

Early life

A native of Punjab, India, he completed his graduation from Hans Raj College, Delhi University.

Career

Vinod Dua gained high popularity for his weekly current affairs show “PARAKH” in Doordarshan (Indian state owned television channel).

These days he regularly hosts two TV shows in Hindi news channel NDTV India: (1) Khabardar and (2) Zaika India Ka. Both the programmes are based on totally different themes. While “Khabardar ” is a show for food lovers and gives a live flavour of diverse variety of Indian food whose characteristics vary from one place to another.

Recently Vinod Dua presented many programmes for NDTV India with other eminent TV journalists, Abhigyan Prakash and Pankaj Pachauri, to analyze the political and social situation during the 2007 assembly polls in the Indian state of Gujarat.

Awards

Vinod Dua was the first electronic media journalist awarded by esteemed BD Goenka Award for excellence in journalism in 1995.
