Sannati is a major tourist centre in India is one of the important Buddhist sites in Karnataka; it is a treasure trove of information for research scholars and historians. Sannati is located on the banks of the river Bhima in Chitapur taluk of Gulbarga District, and it is a site recognised by ASI (Archaeological Survey of India).
Sannati is also famous for Chandrala Parameshwari Temple.

History
At Sannati during excavation found 1st to 3rd centuries the sculptures, terracotta items and tablets consisting of scriptures and at one of the mounds popularly known as Ranamandal found the Maurya Empire.
Excavation
Excavation work carried out by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the State Archaeology Department. Archaeologists believe that Ranamandal was a fortified area (radius of 93,65,400 sq. ft. of which now only 87,120 sq. ft. area has been excavated). Clay pendants of Roman origin, northern black polished pottery, Shatavahana and pre-Shatavahana coins, ornaments made of copper, ivory and iron, a township with paved pathways, houses and limestone flooring have been found.
Government has asked to Archaeological Survey of India to take up further exploration of the Ranamandal area to know the past history of the region and its connection with Buddhism.
Sannati Development Authority
Sannati Development Authority formed on the lines of the Kudalasangama Development Authority and Basavakalyan Development Authority. Decided to construct a museum, library and guesthouses for visiting scholars.
Kanaganahalli
Kanaganahalli is 3 km from Sannati, which is also on the banks of the river Bhima. It is the place where an ancient Buddhist Mahastupa site found.
Chandrala Parameshwari Temple
At Sannati there is a famous temple of Chandrala Parameshwari.
